The security head and staff of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) have been held responsible for molesting a boy at the institution. The investigation report has been prepared by the federal education ministry additional secretary.
It has recommended the replacement of the director admin and security head while recommending disciplinary action against the persons responsible.
The document also suggests measures to prevent such incidents in the future. It has been recommended to establish 15 emergency helplines in the university in collaboration with the administration.
The report said the data of university students living in hostels be shared with the district administration and allowing the district officials to the district to visit the hostels.
According to the report, the official statement and position of IIUI on the incident proved wrong. Hence, disciplinary action should be taken against the officials involved in this misrepresentation and hiding the reality.
It added that the varsity’s rector has been asked to overhaul the management of the university and to submit a report after making administrative changes within 15 days.
The report also instructed to remove the security in charge, supervisor, staff deployed at the time of the incident, and director of administration and take action against them.
It also termed the video of the victim going viral on social media as negligence and sought action against the responsible.
The recommendation of forming a committee at the university level has been made to deal with such incidents in the future. The inquiry report also found the doctor of PIMS guilty of criminal negligence who refused to examine the victim.
It suggested the recommendations of the committee be implemented immediately.
