President Dr Arif Alvi has said that India is involved in hybrid warfare against Pakistan by using the soil of Afghanistan and supporting militancy and terrorism in the country.

Referring to the terrorist attacks on Stock Exchange Karachi, Lahore's Johar Town bomb blast, arrest of Kulbhushan Jadhav and many other terrorist activities, he said that these attacks had been carried out with Indian support to destabilise Pakistan.

He stated that India is hatching conspiracies against Pakistan to destabilise it by funding militant organisations to carry out terrorist activities.

He added that India would not succeed in its evil designs as Pakistan’s armed forces are fully capable to overcome the security challenges, particularly the 5th generation war.

The president expressed these views while addressing participants of 7th National Workshop on Balochistan, who called on him at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Wednesday, an official statement issued by the president’s media wing said.

The president remarked that the government is seriously focusing on the socio-economic uplift of Balochistan to bring it at par with other provinces of the country.

He highlighted that Gwadar port and various projects, under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would bring a lot of change for the people of Balochistan.

He said that CPEC would bring enormous opportunities to the province as the regional countries, particularly Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, would use the corridor for their exports and trade through Gwadar port.

The president stated that the minerals and fishery sectors of Balochistan had immense potential and the federal government is taking serious steps to utilise the potential of these sectors for the benefit of the people of the province.

He deeply appreciated the fact that the political and military leadership of the country is taking a keen interest in the development of Balochistan.

In response to a question, President Alvi underlined the need for reforming the judicial system to provide speedy justice to the people.

He remarked that Pakistan is emerging and the economic policies of the government have started paying dividends as evident from the economic indicators which are on an upward trajectory.

While responding to the question of a participant about the emerging situation in Afghanistan, the president said that Pakistan has been making sincere efforts to promote peace and stability in Afghanistan and urged the need for a peaceful political settlement of the problems in the neighbouring country.
