Mehfil Arts presented the preeminent Sufi Qawwals of our time Ustad Fareed Ayaz and Ustad Abu Muhammad to live audience in Manchester.
This was a unique opportunity to treat ourselves to the finest compositions of Sufi music (or Qawwali as known in South Asia).
The Government of Pakistan has decorated Fareed Ayaz with the PRIDE OF PERFORMANCE AWARD.
They are one of the leading performers of qawwali and trace their musical lineage from Amir Khusro.
What was witnessed on the night was what distinguishes in their qawwali from others is exclusive focus on the expression of Divine or Spiritual love.
The evening was reverberated with the poetry of the likes of Rumi, Amir Khusro and Baba Bhullay Shah.
