Sale Muslim Community Meeting organised by Dr Tariq Razzaq founder of three meem foundation.
Well organised event,despite the bad weather local Muslim community attendedin a large number, people of all ages including many women and youngsters were also present.
Recitation of the Holy Quran wss by Abdul Basit, Welcome speach by Nawaz Gondal followed by detailed presentation of the update and developments in search for an Islamic Community Centre from Dr Tariq.
Dr Tariq has already spent over £200k from his pocket so far on this charity we were told.
For me the highlight of the evening was listening to Collr. Steven Longden, first he gave his family background which had Islamic links and he then showed his 100% support and recognised the need of Islamic community centre in the Sale area, but he was equally honest and shared his opposition to build a centre in one of the purposed green belt. I praise him for his honesty.
There were some question answers and it was clear to me some people had issue with either they were not informed on a regular basis of the progress and some has the issue with Dr Tariq's description of the charity.
