Dr Abdullah Alnaeem CEO Eamar Developments Organised An Event Honouring Yasmin Dar
An amazing celebration event at Manchester City Football Club, Etihad Stadium.
Honouring, celebrating and recognising the work and contributions of the Lord Mayor of the City of Manchester Yasmine Dar and her Consort Majid Dar.
Yasmine is a trailblazer, becoming the 125th Lord Mayor, and the very first Muslim woman of Asian heritage to become Lord Mayor.
It also was also a moment to recognise Manchester City Football Club’s impressive achievement in 2022/ 23 by winning a total of five major titles: the English Premier League, The FA Cup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup.
The gathering was hosted by Eamar Developments UK Group, a renowned property development and investment company, recognised for it’s iconic projects and contributions across Greater Manchester and worldwide.
The event was also supported by the award-winning youth, sport, and mentoring charity organisation, Community on Solid Ground.
The theme of the event was ‘Celebration’.
There were a number of speeches from distinguished guests, a fantastic meal, an opportunity to make memories with the trophies, and, of course, the opportunity to network and celebrate together.
The night, honoured, celebrated and recognised the work and contributions of the Lord Mayor of the City of Manchester, Yasmine Dar and the Lord Mayor’s Consort Majid Dar.
Over the past year, Yasmine and Majid, as Lord Mayor and Consort have been incredible. They heve bought positive energy and joy to every community gathering they entered with their amazing ability to connect with others.
Yasmine has over 30 years of experience in the social welfare sector, and has always been a dedicated advocate for social and community issues, which shows in all her interactions with others.
As the city's Lord Mayor, Yasmine not only chaired formal council meetings but also spearheaded the Lord Mayor's charity, 'We Love MCR,' aiming to provide crucial funds for local youth and community organisations.
Beyond her political duties, Yasmine co-founded the award-winning charity 'Community on Solid Ground,' impacting over 400 young lives weekly through sports, education, and mentorship.
Yasmine's vast career includes service management at the national mental health charity 'Rethink,' contributing to the Independent Advisory Group with Greater Manchester Police, and serving as a board member for 'Remembering Srebrenica' Northwest.
Her 25 year tenure in His Majesty’s Prison Service is a reflection of her commitment to diverse communities and interfaith work.
Her resilience, dedication, and commitment to change make her a powerful voice, not just locally but internationally.
Yasmine’s Mayoralty theme has focused on empowerment, and she has drawn inspiration from her own personal journey and overcoming her own challenges, that has inspired the thousands of people she has engaged with over the past year.
